Pressure Groups: • A pressure group seeks to influence government policy or legislation. • AKA ‘interest groups’, ‘lobby groups’ or ‘protest groups’. • In the UK, the number of political parties is very small, whereas the number of pressure groups runs into thousands • The membership of political parties has fallen, but the membership of pressure groups has increased.
