+ J.M.J.F. My brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus may his grace and peace be with you always. The purpose of this program and other programs in this catechetical series is to give honor and glory to God, our Father and to obey Jesus command to spread the “Good News to all the nations” Let us pray: Father we thank you for the gift of life you have given us. We thank you for most beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, whom You sent to teach us to know, love and serve you, and who suffered and died for our redemption. We thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, and pray that the Holy Spirit will open our minds and hearts as we strive through our studies to know, love and serve you better. We offer this thanksgiving and petition in Jesus name. Amen
ALTAR SERVER TRAINING THE CHURCH
FUTURE ALTAR SERVER AS AN ALTAR SERVER YOU REPRESENT THE PEOPLE PARTICIPATING IN THE LITURGY ON THE ALTAR, BY ASSISTING THE PRIEST.
FUTURE ALTAR SERVER Being an altar server is not something that is owed to us or we do because others want us too. It must be your decision. Remember it is great honor and privilege!
As an altar server you must pay strict attention to what the priest is doing. You should never talk on the altar, other than to say the prayers along with the congregation or to answer a question the priest may ask you. You should not be looking out into the congregation for any reason. Pay attention to what the priest is saying and doing. Never do anything to distract anyone at Mass. Remember the Mass is the most sacred prayer of the Church and the center of all that is Catholic. The greatest miracle very to happen, happens at each Mass. When the priest says the words, “This is my body and this is my blood” the bread and wine become Jesus!!! Jesus is present on the altar and you are kneeling a couple of feet away from him. All the choirs of angels are on the altar bowing down in adoration of Jesus and their you are, you and the priest among them. What an honor!!! Be reverend and prayerful. You kneel before your God, your Savior, your sanctifier.
