  5. DEFINITION OF TERMS • Terms that are essential to the study • Terms that should be defined are those found in the title, statement of the problem and sub problems • Define the terms operationally as used in the study (nature of study) • Alphabetical order

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY • Is also known as rationale or Introduction in some research types • Presents a over all picture of the need to conduct the study • It ushers to the significant information on variables • It tells a story/status or statistics of the world, country, and local community • It answers the question: Why is there a need to conduct the study? Who and what are the benefits of the study if conducted?

  8. Reminders:- The background of the study should be 2 pages only and maximum of 6 paragraphs. - Follow the rules in parenthetical citation (CMS style, paraphrased if there is a borrowed information)

  10. Conceptual Framework- Establishes the clear direction of the study- It is presented through as schematic diagram explaining the nature of the study (Concepts-Methods-Outcomes) - A textual discussion followed by a diagram

  11. APPLICATION:Based on your chosen Project in 20 mins assign your members to write the following:1. Definition of Terms (10 pts) 2. Background of the study (20 pts) 3. Conceptual Framework with discussion (20 pts) The output has to be controlled and checked and should be finalized before submission. Coherence is a must. Submission is next meeting (Computerized in Logbook)
