  1. Groundbased observations in preparation, support and follow-up of COROT

  2. from preparation to support and follow-up 1. Groundbased studies of pulsations in delta Scuti, gamma Dor, beta Cep, Be stars Photometry: SPM, OSN, Mercator, Konkoly, APT on going since July 2004, to be continued Spectroscopy: radial velocity curves, LPV (high degree modes) = complement to COROT on going since June 2005 (OHP, FEROS) to be continued in a more ambitious way Possible subdivision of the tasks : Cep (HD 180642 and HD 170580): LEUVEN (C. Aerts) Sct FAST ROTATORS : OSN (J.C. Suarez) (HD 181555, HD 170782, HD 170699) MEUDON (….) HD 172189 (Sct+EA+SB2) : OSN (S. Martin) HD 50870 (Sct ) : STEPHI (E. Michel) HD 44283 (Sct ) : OAB (E. Poretti) KONKOLY (M. Paparò) HYBRID (HD 44195) : OAB (K. Uytterhoven) Dor (HD 49434 and HD 171834) : NICE (P. Mathias) Be stars: MEUDON (Neiner, Hubert, …)

  3. Some highlights (1) HD 49434,confirmation of the light variability High precision photometry (s.d. better than 0.002 mag) on four consecutive nights. Peak-to-peak amplitudes 0.022 mag in violet 0.019 mag in blue 0.016 mag in yellow Multiperiodicity probable. The observations planned in December (OSN and SPM) will be decisive to detect periodicities. Additional APT timeseries available.

  4. Some highlights (2) HD 180642, Beta Cep variable, but probably not multiperiodic Monitored at SPM and OSN in Stromgren photometry, with Mercator telescope in the Geneva system and and with M. Piszkesteto telescope in V filter Pulsational frequency term identified as the Fundamental radial mode (Aerts et al., in preparation)

  5. from preparation to support and follow-up 1. Groundbased studies of pulsations in delta Scuti, gamma Dor, beta Cep, Be stars Photometry: SPM, OSN, Mercator, Konkoly, APT on going since July 2004, to be continued Spectroscopy: radial velocity curves, LPV (high degree modes) = complement to COROT on going since June 2005 (OHP, FEROS) to be continued in a more ambitious way 2. Magnetic activity of F, G stars and Be stars: Spectropolarimetry: Espadons @ CFHT, on going, to be continued 3. Measuring diameters of COROT targets by interferometry: Interferometry: AMBER @ ESO/VLTI, scheduled 2006 4. Groundbased seismology of solar-type stars: Spectroscopy: HARPS @ ESO, on going, to be continued

  6. Strategy 1: large programme at ESO: FEROS - Vrad and LPV for dScuti, gDor, bCep, Be PI: E. Poretti 2: large programme at OHP: Sophie - Vrad and LPV for dScuti, gDor, bCep, Be PI: P. Mathias 3: large programme at TBL: Narval - magnetic field and LPV for FG-type, Be stars PI: C. Catala 4: proposals on seismology with Harps (ESO 3.6m) on solar-type stars (not necessarily COROT targets) PI: B. Mosser 5: diameters via interferometry (AMBER @ VLTI): guaranteed time + complementary proposals PI: F. Schmider
