  2. Level II Requirements • Test Modules Requirements • 6 Level I General Modules completed • 2 Level I Special Modules completed • 18 Level II General Modules completed • 4 Level II Special Modules completed • One of the Level I General modules must be 31011 Basic Metric Units and Conversions

  3. Level I Modules • Level I General • 31001 through 31010 • Level I Special • 32001 through 32006

  4. Core 33001 through 33009 These modules must be completed in their entirety in order to qualify for NICET level III. All of them can be used for general level II requirements. Non- core 33010 through 33029 These modules can be used for general level II requirements Specialty 34001 through 34007 In order to get the most time, be sure to sign up for Level III core elements if you need to fill out your 34 requirements. Be sure to apply for any math modules as these provide the most time. Level II Modules

  5. Application Process • Our test facility code is CO87 • We are attempting to set the test for August 20, 2005 here at the Ludvik Office. • Fill out applications and bring them back to the third class along with a check for $180.00. • We will not accept applications prior to the third class.

  6. Applications • DO NOT SUBMIT A WORK HISTORY WITH YOUR APPLICATION • Be sure to apply for the maximum number of modules to ensure the most time on the test • Use Level III modules • Be sure to take Intermediate Math but do not worry about passing it. This gives the most time.

  7. Other • Be sure to have your direct supervisor fill out the appropriate parts of the form and initial the modules you are applying for. • Be sure to NOT apply to take modules you have already passed. • NICET will give you the test and use the latest score only if you do.

  9. Format • The National Fire Alarm Code is written in the NFPA format as opposed to the NEC format. • You have a copy of the NFPA Manual of Style. • Let’s review it before exploring NFPA 72

  12. Chapters • Chapter 3 • Definitions • 1.6.3.1 Chapter may contain only definitions • 1.6.3.2 All definitions contained within the document shall appear in chapter 3. • 1.6.3.5 Definitions shall be permitted to appear in other chapters, provided they also appear in chapter three.

  13. Specific Chapters • Chapter 4 and beyond are used for information specific to the code or standard.

  14. Numbering • 1.8 Mandatory text shall be divided into chapters that are numbered consecutively with Arabic numbers. • 1.8.1 Subdivisions: All subdivisions shall contain at least two subdivisions. • 1.8.2 Sections: Mandatory text within chapters shall be further divided into sections that are numbered consecutively. • Sections shall be numbered consecutively by adding a period (.) and an Arabic number after the chapter number.

Subsections • Different than Subdivisions • 1.8.3 Sections containing multiple requirements shall be subdivided into subsections, which shall be further subdivided into paragraphs of text. • 1.8.3.1 Subsections shall be numbered consecutively by adding a period and an Arabic number to the section number.
