Swachh Bharat Abhiyanin India India is the largest democratic country in the world and here – every principle is derived from the constitution. Due to its democratic structure, or simply put, complex structure, multi-party system is prevalent here. Thereabout, more than 200 parties exist in India – some are having national status, some are having state status, while the remaining have local status. The status have been granted by the election commission of India and it is frequently changing as per the performance of the particular party in the recent elections. Though, the loksabha election, which are happens in a term of 5 years – are responsible to form a government in the center, but all the states have their respective government, as every state hold its election apart from the center.
Though, the center is the main power center, but in some areas state has the jurisdiction. Some initiatives are taken by the center and some are by states in their jurisdiction. Taking a cue from the recent initiatives taken by government, then swachh bharatabhiyan in India is the latest one. Though many initiatives have been taken by government, but the influence of this initiative is pervasive. A substantial portion of population is giving its support to this initiative and pledged to clean their society. This initiative has launched on the 2nd of October, Mahatma Gandhi birthday, as he was the staunch supporter of clean India.
Due to the keen interest and constant efforts of NDA government in center, this initiative was also praised by the United Nations. Though, such campaigns have been launched by many successive governments, but either, they are not serious about them, or these were only launched to score the brownie points, or to make vote bank. Many government offices are ordered to carve a day in the month for cleaning and many societies have also implemented this phenomenon, not by the order by their choice. You can easily witness many ministers cleaning their offices – however it is photo-op, but it created an awareness for sure.
Apart from this, this government is very active in the women right issues and they are supporting many NGO working for women rights in Delhiand all over India, either by money or by workforce. The budget for women safety and rights has been substantially increased in the current term of the government. Though, many initiatives have not been taken off, but this government have the roadmap for the success of those and most importantly, they have the will to do something for the society.
