Vocab • Relation: any relationship between two variables. • Set of ordered pair. Ex: (1, 2) • Function: for every “x” value there is only one “y” value. • The “x” never repeats! • Domain: x-coordinates • Range: y-coordinates
Vertical Line Test • Use it to determine if the graph is a function or not.

Function Notation • f(x) = “f of x” • f(x) = y • x is the input • y is the output
Example • Given f(x) = 3x + 2, find f(-2), f(0), and f(4). • Given h(t) = 2t2 – 4. Find h(3).
