  2. Work Environment Landscape architects spend most of their time in offices creating plans and designs, preparing models and cost estimates, doing research.

What a Landscape Architect does A landscape architect designs residential areas, parks, shopping centers, parkways, golf courses and school campuses in order to make them beautiful, as well as functional. A landscape architect may work with other professionals including civil engineers, hydrologists and architects.

  4. Salary Landscape Architects earned a low annual salary of $41,070 per year Landscape Architects earned a median annual salary of $60,560 per year Landscape Architects earned a high annual salary of $84,800 per year

  5. Education Requirement Landscape architect must have a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) or a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture (BSLA). Either will take four to five years of classes in design, construction techniques, art, history, and natural and social sciences.

  6. Work Hours Almost all landscape architects work full time, and many work far more than the standard 40 hour work week.
