2. The Facts • What happened? • Dr. Shivers was kidnapped • When did it happen? • Monday night 9/9/13 between 11pm and midnight • Where did it happen? • Taken from Mrs. Sime’s classroom • How did it happen? • Not sure – no sign of forced entry but a note was left at the scene

3. Narrative • Police did regular rounds at 11pm and checked all doors. Everything was fine. At 12:05am, dispatch received a call from an anonymous neighbor stating she heard a scuffle and then a loud girly scream. The neighbor looked out the window and saw someone carrying something that appeared to be a body. The person travelled into the woods and was not seen again. The neighbor wasn’t sure of the exact time since her clocks never started working again after the electricity went out Monday afternoon. • Upon entering the building, the police immediately noticed something was wrong. Dr. Shiver’s was missing!! While there was no forced entry, there was the presence of blood, a footprint, a letter, and a good set of fingerprints. The police collected the evidence and left the scene at 3am.

6. Mrs. Houpert Possible Motive: Lowered PSSA scores Alibi: Reading“Wonder” According to Mr. Murtha, Mrs. Houpert was very upset with Dr. Shivers. Last year during PSSA, Dr. Shivers kept distracting and freaking out the students therefore the students couldn’t do their best work. She was overheard (in a very evil voice) saying that Dr. Shivers needs to go before he ruins this year’s scores. During the police interview, Mrs. Houpert denied this and insisted that she loved Dr. Shivers. She stated that she was home at the time reading the book “Wonder” for the 17th time.

7. Mrs. Mallon Possible Motive: Needed a nanny Alibi: knitting cat sweaters According to Mrs. Houpert, Mrs. Mallon was in desperate need of child care. Ms. Poppins used to watch her children but one day she just opened her umbrella too far and floated away. She was overheard saying that she wished that Dr. Shivers would babysit for her because she knew for a fact that he didn’t ownany umbrellas. During the police interview, Mrs. Mallon stated that she was home at the time, knitting sweaters for underprivileged cats. She had many stray cat witnesses but no human ones. When the strays were asked to verify they responded . Grumpy cat was called in to translate but he refused.

9. Mrs. Lang Possible Motive: Jealous of new partner Alibi: planking Chewbacca According to Mrs. Mallon, Mrs. Lang and Dr. Shivers were ballroom dancing partners before she came to Unami. Dr. Shivers decided that he wanted to leave the partnership and dance with Ace instead because Mrs. Lang kept stepping on his feet (Ace’s feet are tiny andhe doesn’t wear heals). This made Mrs. Lang very angry. She was overheard saying “If I can’t have him, no one can!” During the police interview, Mrs. Lang said that during the time of the kidnapping, she was planking in Doylestown while dressed as Chewbacca. 10. Mr. Murtha Possible Motive: Needed an Assistant Alibi: playing charades According to Mrs. Lang, Mr. Murtha was overwhelmed with his responsibilities as vice-principle. He was heard on many occasions saying “I need my own personal assistant to help me run things! Mrs. Sime has Dr. Shivers helping her and she doesn’t do half of the work that I do. Maybe Dr. Shivers should come work for me!” During the police interview, Mr. Murtha stated that he was home alone at the time playing charades by himself. He was amazed at how many times he was able to guess the right answer.
