  4. Learning Environment • Access to a computer with PowerPoint and internet • Access to headphones so as not to disturb the other students • Completed individually

  5. Objectives • 1.Given a description of a cave animal, studentswillbe able to identifywhich cave animal itiswith 100% accuracy. • 2. Given a photo of a cave animal, students will be able to describe what characteristics the animal possesses with 100% accuracy. • 3. Given this PowerPoint Presentation, the students will be able to answer the six quiz questions with 100% accuracy.

  8. What do bats look like? • Bats are mammals, like people. • Bats are black or brown with wings.

  9. What do bats eat? • Bats eat insects, fruit, fish and frogs!

  10. How do bats sleep? • Upside down! • In groups

  11. How do bats hunt? • Bats make very high-pitched noises and if it bounces off something they know not to fly there!

  12. What are their babies like? • Babies are called “pups” • Born without hair • Drink milk from their mom • Like humans, are normally born 1 at a time

  13. How long have they been around? • Bats have existed for 50 million years!
