  3. The "Ria“ is Aveiro's lagoon. It really give the city a feeling of being built over water.

  4. The production of salt using ancient techniques is one of the most traditional activities in Aveiro.

  5. “Moliceiro” is a traditional boat from Aveiro whose function was to clean the river so the boats could cross it

The university Founded in 1973, the University of Aveirois now an exponent of quality and progress, occupying a prominent place in the field of higher education in Portugal. • A modern institution designed for the acquisition of scientific, artistic, and technological knowledge. • - University of Aveiro has 17 Departments, 4 polytechnic schools of higher education ,15 Research Units and 3 Associated Laboratories.
