New market initiatives concerning biodiesel use 4. Promotion of the final consumption of biodiesel among general public and specific sectors related to transport

  3. MAIN FEATURE As European Regions are in real need of green fuels, PROBIO focuses on promoting the integration between production and consumption in the biodiesel supply chain in these regions. This has been achieved by means of a three-pronged strategy based on: ● The development of a NEW MARKET ● PROMOTION ACTIVITIES ● Supporting TRAINING ACTIONS BACKGROUND Key word INTEGRATION

MAIN RESULTS ● Increase the awareness about biodiesel among general public ● Increase awareness on energy crops as an alternative for farmers changing their traditional attitudes ● Diversification of the energy consumption in transport sector ● Establishment of a confident market and sufficient legal incentives to further the cultivation of vegetable oils and the biodiesel consumption on the local level Overallresult Sensible increase of the production and use of biodiesel at the local level. Medium-long term, the participants have increased the consumption of biodiesel to a 5 % in their provinces.
