The Theme of the Iliad… Once you have finished your quiz you are to find a portion of Book 24 (10-15 lines) in which you believe the theme (or moral lesson) of the Iliad to be contained and working on memorizing it. You will then work with a partner to get a quality recitation of it down pat to be performed in the next week on demand. Stuck? • To find a passage begin by writing a short paragraph exploring what you can learn from this story. • To begin memorizing, copy out the section of the poem. • Make sure you understand everything that is being said and the story it tells.
