Mental Health Services for Older People It is important because • We are living longer • There are more of us needing or who will be needing a service • We want to stay in a home of our own as long as possible • We want to use hospital or residential care only if necessary

(£100k) Enhanced intermediate care services to improve range and scope of help to people at home.(£140k) Development of 3 locality based hubs associated with Extra Care Housing Schemes. (£4.5mcapital)
Mental Health Services for Older People Element 3-inpatient and residential Use Callington and Southmead in long-term, saving between £500k to £700k to invest in other services. Expand number of admissions to 150 per year with length. Invest £60k in help for people in acute hospital. Over next 5 years reduce number of residential beds, releasing further £340k for community services.
