  4. What does smoke do ?This is what you will see or feel • Smoke rises and spreads across the ceiling • The smoke layer lowers into the room • There is a smoke-free space next to the floor • It is hottest near the ceiling and coolest at floor level

  6. Smoke can... Affect you while you are asleep Seriously damage your health Kill you in only 2 or 3 breaths Kill family and pets Damage your home and belongings This is why we must treat it very seriously!

  16. Emergency CallsWhat do you need to say? • Say which emergency service you need • Give the full address • Describe any landmarks to help find you • Say if everyone is out of the house, or if someone is trapped • Describe the fire Work with a partner to practise making a 999 call

  17. How well do you know your mobile? • Do you have to switch your phone on to call 999? • Can you make a 999 call if you have no credit left? • Is it possible to make a 999 call if you can’t get a signal? • Can you call 999 if your battery is dead? • Is 999 the only emergency number?
