Both meanings of the word “confession” have a deep significance to everyone. To those who become a Christian, it’s a declaration of faith in Jesus as the Christ, and that same confession should be made throughout one’s life. Also ,to a Christian it’s an acknowledgment that one sins. That individual then, with a penitent heart, asks for forgiveness of those transgressions, and we are deeply grateful that the Lord said He will forgive.
