  4. Medtech Sentiment Q3 2014 Currently; • 42% are more confidence in their business than they did three months ago • 55% remain equally confident. Next three months; • 47% expect to hire new staff • 34% expect to increase investment in R&D • 76% expect an increase in productivity • 66% of companies expect an increase in their order books IMDA Strategy • 79% said mentoring indigenous medtech start-up companies is beneficial • 68% said sharing best practice in Operational Excellence is beneficial • 71% said undertaking collaborative research is beneficial

Medtech In the Media Q3 Key Message • Raise the awareness of the Medical Technology Sector in Ireland (Sentiment data, facts) • Promote and reinforce the many rewarding job opportunities (Sentiment data, TNA, Skills needs) • Raise awareness of the European Regulatory System as essentially a good system and fit for purpose but can be improved Summary (Past 5 weeks) • 1 x Interview with RTE, 6 One – Bill Doherty • 2 x Articles & Photos appeared in the Sunday Business Post (EI, IMDA, IDA) & on line activity • 3 x IMDA press releases issued – 1x EU Regulations & 2 x Skills in the sector • 1 x Interview with Galway Independent – EU Regs/Global Access – Sinead Keogh • 1 x IMDA Update to be issued to medtech ecosystem – distributed to all stakeholders • New - IMDA Website to be launched in Q4 • New - Size & Scale of MedTech promoted in Medtech Map
