DNM Knowledge Sharing Proposal • DNM would regularly hold customer events across a range of our core competencies such as Business Intelligence & Cloud Computing. DNM would like to partner with the IMDA to host a knowledge sharing workshop for the various IMDA members. • We would be used to hosting half & full day workshop sessions & can offer a variety of different options in terms of topics that can be covered. • As We understand the purpose of the IMDA Benchmark model, we would suggest that there are 3 areas / skills identified on the heat map that Business Intelligence would be a key enabler to achieving maturity & business success. • Visual Management • Performance Measurement • Target Performance Management • DNM would propose to work on designing an appropriate agenda to provide the members with a knowledge sharing workshop focused on : “How Business Intelligence can support the Opex Maturity Journey” • This can be a Full Day / half Day / or specific speaking slot at an IMDA event • DNM would welcome an opportunity like this & would be willing to partner together with the IMDA on costs to host such an event.
Initial Knowledge Sharing Options • The categories below are topics we believe would be of interest to user group, there is a good mixture of research , DNM case studies & potential Guest Speakers. • This list can be tailored to suit an agreed agenda & size of workshop • We are happy to facilitate a stand alone event or add incorporate IMDA benchmark awareness / training / speakers into a proposed agenda / running order as required. Other Options Market Trends Case Studies • Using Latest Gartner BI Research 2013 • Creating an Analytics Strategy to drive performance improvement & decison making • The rise of Data Discovery & Visualisationas business user tools • How to create a Performance Metrics Framework • Using latest research from BISCorecard De Mistifying the BI Vendor Marketplace • Which tools are available • What are the right tools for my organisation • How do I get started • Vendor Price Comparisons • Other Potential Topics: • What is Big Data • Creating your Cloud Strategy • The role of a Business Intelligence Competency Centre • Vendor Demonstrations • Tableau & Oracle regularly provide • How to create a BI Data Strategy - Pharma Client Speaker • The Power of Data Visualisation - Airline Client Speaker • Using data to Benchmark against your peer group – Finanical Services Speaker Guest Speakers • Market Leaders Hype Panel – • Panel of experts from avariety of industries share their thoughts on the topicss that are most in Hype in the market place • How Data enables an Operational Excellene Agenda – Alex McDonell / McLaw & Associates • Analytics in Rugby – Frankie Sheehan
Overview of As Is Solution 2. Data Entry Screens 1.Data Entry Screens The current IMDA Model is constructed of 2 core pieces of functionality At a point in time this allows the user to capture their individual company information & scores, whilst visualising the results in a heat map report + scorecard report The current model has been well received by members, and the fact it has been built on an excel infrastructure has allowed user feedback to be incorporated into the design. However there are a number of known drawbacks with an excel infrastructure which were either out of scope for Phase 1 based on complexity or are feedback received from end users: Distribution Mechanism Version Control Time Series Capability Limited Report Views True Benchmarking
Phase 2 : Design ConsiderationsOperating Model User fills in latest questions through an online form User logs on to an online MOR Model website Online Reports made available to end user & or their team / management Data is populated to a central database
Irrespective of additional options selected there will need to be an online user interface created & accessible through the IMDA website. Front End Website Phase 2 : Design ConsiderationsHosting User fills in latest questions through an online form User logs on to an online MOR Model website Online Reports made available to end user & or their team / management Data is populated to a central database
Chosen partner will need to created a database & a structure design to store the member data. Regarding Location of Database: Database is built by partner on the IBEC network using own licensing & infrastructure, and managed & monitored on a daily basis by IBEC IT resources. Database is built by partner on their own network using own licensing & infrastructure & is managed by partner as a subscription / managed service model on behalf of IMDA Irrespective of additional options selected there will need to be an online user interface created & accessible through the IMDA website. Back End Database & Reports Front End Website Phase 2 : Design ConsiderationsHosting User fills in latest questions through an online form User logs on to an online MOR Model website Online Reports made available to end user & or their team / management Data is populated to a central database
Phase 2 : Design ConsiderationsReporting Looking at the reporting layer of the new solution we would see there being 3 different options for consideration. These are not mutually exclusive, it would be a case of deciding how much capability do you want to build into the final solution 1.Replicate Existing Reports 2.New Reporting Capabilities 3. Create a Benchmark Capability Create only the existing reports with no additions to scope Using DNM recommendations, User feedback & best practices, design a suite of end user reports that are up to date with modern industry expectations & provide value add capabilities to the Model. DNM have built Anonymous National Benchmarking reporting capabilities for the Irish league of Credit Unions. This expertise could be leveraged to design a solution that adds value for the IMDA members whilst complying with security, competition & data protection
Phase 2 Summary Considerations: • Before a formal Quote could be issued as guideline the following decisions would need to be talked through in more detail: • Will the Solution be built on the IBEC network – if so it is assumed • Hardware & Infrastucre costs are covered by IBEC • Software & Licence Costs will be dependent on whether or not IBEC have a preferred solution provider e.g. Microsoft, IBM, Oracle , Tableau etc.. • On-going maintenance costs will be covered within IBEC budgets • Is the solution to be provided as a managed service – if so the quote will need to cover • Hardware, Software, Licencing, Effort to design, On-going Maintenance • Pricing Model to be agreed – is IBEC / IMDA the end client or IMDA Member • Which of the 3 reporting options need to be scoped • Replicate Existing Reports • Build new reporting capabilities • Create Benchmark capabilities
