Four Situations • Each begins with the problem • 4-5, 10-12, 17-18, 23-27 • Each shows the crying unto the Lord • 6a, 13a, 19a, 28a • Each reveals God’s deliverance of the troubled • 6b-7, 13b-14, 19b-20, 28b-30 • Each concludes with the call to be thankful • 8-9, 15-16, 21-22, 31-32
Psalm 107:8, 15, 21, 31 • Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! • Following verses deal with specifics of each needed situation • 9 satisfied longing, 16 broke gates • 22 sacrifices and declare, 32: praise before men
Greatest Blessings • 7 Men are given a HOME • 14 Men are given their FREEDOM • 20 Men receive FORGIVENESS • 30 Men are rescued and brought PEACE • Those who were facing the dangers of the sea Ps 107:30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Focus of the Psalm (Where are the grateful?) • God has helped us in every need • We enjoy the blessings He has delivered • We do not thank God • We do not make our gratitude clear to men • Ps 107:32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
