The ECRIS Support Programme aims to assist Member States in implementing ECRIS, conduct training needs analysis, explore exchanging criminal records extracts for non-criminal purposes, and engage partner countries for collaborative efforts. ESP Objectives • Support Member States with implementation of ECRIS • Carry out Training Needs Analysis for Member States • Explore requirements to exchange extracts of criminal records for purposes other than criminal proceedings
Support Member States with implementation of ECRIS • Studies, consultation and translation of documents • Focus groups capturing advice and recommendations • Joint working with partner countries • Establishment of an Information Centre to support Member States
Conduct Training Needs Analysis in Member States • Issues relating to the functioning of the ECRIS business processes • Capture and share best practice • Identify opportunities to implement training programmes throughout the EU • Make recommendations about sustainable training programmes
Explore requirements to exchange extracts of criminal records for purposes other than criminal proceedings. • Address potential requirements for the exchange for other purposes • firearms licencing; • prevention of sex offenders working with children • Make findings available in respective language
