  2. Sound Waves • Sound waves are created when vibrations bounce of an object. • Sound waves have the characteristics of wavelength, frequency, amplitude, and speed or velocity.

  3. Seismic Waves • Seismic waves are waves from earthquakes. • Earths internal structure is made possible because earthquakes produce the vibrations called seismic waves.

  4. Rope Waves • When you shake a rope up and down it will take the shape of a wave.

  5. Water Waves • Did you know ocean waves can transport energy over vast areas?!
