  1. Zachary Holtmeier-Brasier Three Types of Home Care Technology

  2. Zachary Holtmeier-Brasier is a marketing and business professional in Missouri. He studied business, finance, and marketing at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He works with Pear Tree Home Care as the Director of Marketing. He is interested in learning about new technology that is related to the home health care industry.

  3. Caregivers often have the challenge providing essential health care within a residence. Home care technology can improve the level of care patients receive in their homes. Various sensors can help elderly and disabled individuals stay at home longer. Sensors can be added to windows, doors, and appliances.

  4. Once they are in place, primary caregivers can remotely monitor their charges and watch for risky behaviors such as leaving the house, or leaving utilities, such as water, running for too long. Caregivers can use GPS to remotely care for their charges as well. If a senior or Alzheimer’s patient leaves the house, a GPS system can help caregivers locate their patients if they go missing or become injured.

  5. Fitness bands can make a difference for elderly or disabled patients as well. Doctors can monitor their patients’ blood pressure, mobility, heart rate, glucose, sleep, and other vital measurements. Rather than call patients in for frequent and expensive office visits, physicians and caregivers can monitor their patients’ vitals from afar, and only schedule office visits when absolutely necessary.

  6. Zachary Holtmeier-Brasier works with a home care company and strives to help the company reach out to more patients. He specializes in marketing and played an important role in building Pear Tree Home Care’s website.
