Being part of the Club • A sense of belonging • Having a shared purpose • Network of networks • Having an Action Plan • What is the slow burn plan? • Can you see what it is yet?
The Older Peoples Reference Group making connections in Central Bedfordshire • It’s fun and it keeps us in touch and informed • We share our expertise • Added value for OPRG and our Just Ask partners - Aragon Housing ROAR and Central Bedfordshire Council • We make connections that can be used over and over • We choose what we feel is important to us
An Apple a Day and that Rosy Feeling • Food First Dieticians and OPRG then Just Ask then the Older Peoples Festival then Future East Spring Conference then Age Action Alliance then…cooking something up • Campaign to End Loneliness • Using our green infrastructure – protecting biodiversity in our traditional orchards and new community orchards • Small is beautiful and local and can be replicated everywhere at low cost we will be joining in Apple Days with our healthy eating message
Parlez-vousFrancais? • Our asset based approach – we don’t have lots but what we do have we share • Asset rich cash poor • You can stay for a week at my house in France but I won’t buy you a drink! • Be an apple in our healthy lifestyles chain?
If you think you have something that would add to our apple chain contact Ruth Featherstone at Future East www.futureeast.org.uk
