Technical and installed realization The technical decisions, for providing scientifically-organizational actions in the JINR House for International Conferences (HIC or Russian abbr.“DMS”), are caused by modern requirements to information display projection tools, a sound-technical complex, presence of wire and wireless local networks with output in Internet and system network video streaming. At the first stage, 2 halls for meetings in the JINR “DMS”are equipped with the projection, presentation, video and switching devices. When developing the project, functionality of the creation of centralized management of the complex was considered. The primary goals of the development of the project were as follows: 1. High quality displaying of information on the projective equipment; 2. Operation reliability and simplicity; 3. Opportunity of switching a large number of sources and signal types; 4. Scaling and escalating of the system during the operation; 5. Re-equipment of a sound part of the complex; 6. Promotion of Internet-broadcasting and streaming in a LAN; 7. Organization of a protocol audio- and video- record; 8. Wireless access to network and Internet, based on Wi-Fi technology

Switching features of the projective part • Special feature of the project is the opportunity of wide functional purpose of the equipment, and as compatibility with the video standards 720p and 1080i/p when displaying visual information on video projector Sanyo PLC XP-55 with a light stream 5500ANSI Lm in the main hall. • For high-grade use of the video projector, in system applied for increasing number of linesimages – the scaler/switcher with switching signals without undermining synchronization Kramer VP-724DS, allowing to increase twice the number of lines in a standard signal is applied in the system. Sound subsystem • At the first stage, a digital microphone UHF system Behringer EW165-G2 Evolution, a wire microphones Behringer EW135, and a compressor-gate (DBX) with association of microphone channels, maintenancea uniform level of preamplification, and a system of feedback destroyer (DBX) have been installed. • The sound amplification part, in which now all loudspeakers are connected in parallel, without division into the left and right channels. After the modernization of the switching infrastructure and use of the new amplification equipment, there is a possible to have a stereophonic sound. • The main task now - installation of the main mixer, with functions of creation the groups of signal sources and their addressing, and digital input/output through interface FireWire. It will allow one to make a protocol digital record of audio materials into PC without analog-digital transformation, that considerably improves the quality of these data.
Network streaming and storing • The Internet streaming system, under MMS protocol, based on Windows Media 9 technology and Windows Server 2003 Ent. • The announcement address - mms://video.jinr.ruor http://video.jinr.ru/conf.asx. • Based on Windows Media 9, because some important moments like administration and quality aspects are better realized in it. • Integration of this service into OS on the client side and support, including, under OS Linux, speaks about opportunity in the future to make migration to version 10. • Access to video stream is possible through the JINR Administrative Information System located at the URL http://adm.jinr.ru. In case of interdiction in the JINR LAN Multicast traffic, the technology of video stream transfer from a server to client Unicast, establishing some restrictions on the high-speed parameter under standards in 351 KBit/sec, is accepted. • The second part - organization of the automated system of recording, archivingand indexating video- and audio- streams with creation of a multimedia database. It is caused by the requirement to the legal organization and carrying out scientific and administrative events and conferences. Access to the created archive is regulated, including through a corporate information system. In the future it will allow one to create evident information materials on CD or DVD disks after the conference.
Conclusions: a multimedia infrastructure is realized at JINR: Stage I: • 2 halls for conferences at JINR “DMS” are equipped with a projective, video and switching devices, with opportunity of creating a centralized operating system; • Internet-streaming server, based on MMS protocol, Windows Media 9 technology and Windows Server 2003, is installed and put into operation; Stage II: • Organization of an automated system of capture, compression, archivingand indexating of video- and audio- streams with creation the media database; • Organization of authorized access to the created archive, including through a corporate information system; Stage III: Status and perspectives • Development and introduction in HIM “DMS”of uniform multimedia infrastructure on the basis of a control system and distribution video and audio streams; • Opportunity of participation of remote attendees of symposia through a system of video conferencing and/or a space bridge during the passing the sessions; • Integration of all presentation equipment: sources of video/audio signals, information display tools, switching equipment, a congress-system and sound subsystem will make on-line operated infrastructure; • Introduction of corporate media culture, with creation of hi-tech rooms and halls for seminars and symposiums, with integration of services of a multi-service data transmission network.
