About Me • Born and raised in Calgary • Both my parents are retired teachers • One younger sister • Played rugby in New Zealand • Won 2003 Harry Hood Award (Top student/football player in Calgary) • Played CIS football • Travelled Australia & East Asia • Moved to Nanaimo in 2007 • 3 time National Champion • Teach power skating
education • Graduated from Bowness High School (2004) in Calgary with honors • Won Alberta Football academics scholarship • Attended University of Calgary • Graduated from Vancouver Island University with a B.A in Physical Education (with distinction) • Won Trudy Sorenson Spirit Award • Graduated from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Education (with distinction)
Athletic Career • From a young age played high level hockey, soccer, baseball, wrestling and roller hockey • MVP of high school football, basketball and rugby teams – Male athlete of the year grade 8 thru 12 • Won 2003 Harry Hood Award (Top student/football player in Calgary) – Runner up for top student/basketball player • Played CIS football for 2 years (on scholarship) • Played 2 seasons with the VI Raiders Junior Football Team – Winning 2 Provincial titles & 1 National title • 2007 Provincial All-star (BC Junior Football League)
coaching • 2008 to present – Coach with the VI Raiders Junior Football Team – 4 Provincial titles & 2 National titles • 2009 & 2010 – Coached BC Senior Bowl (football) & Team BC Football • 2011- 2012 assistant coach with John Barsby senior boys basketball team • 2012 Coach of the Woodland High School grade 8 boys basketball team • I have developed a strong passion for coaching and continue to look for opportunities to do so

My teaching Philosophy • Maximize student engagement • Create a safe learning environment • Foster student teacher relationships • Creating a inclusive classroom • Develop a system of assessment which will give all students the best opportunity to succeed • Clear expectations – routines & assignments • Active for life vs skills base • Giving respect will earn respect which in turn will enhance the learning taking place

Personal Interest • I take pride and ownership in being a role model/mentor in teaching or coaching • I value an active lifestyle which includes participation in many different activates and sports • Practice what your preach • Travelling more is in my future plans • Close friends and family are highly valuable to me
