Adjectives. Adjectives are words that describe a noun or pronoun. An adjective tells what kind or how many Sometimes an adjective can follow the noun and a linking verb connects the noun and adjective. Examples: The terrifying sight of an approaching storm filled the men with dread.

An adjective tells what kind or how many • Sometimes an adjective can follow the noun and a linking verb connects the noun and adjective. • Examples: • The terrifying sight of an approaching storm filled the men with dread. • Shackleton and his crew became exhausted after walking for many miles • Find the adjectives in the following sentences. • Fifteen men pulled each boat. • They walked safely across the solid ice. • Fierce, furious winds shook the Endurance during the storm.

  3. Demonstrative Adjective • A demonstrative adjective tells which one.
