Collaborative Teaching Models The instruction in the general education setting at the secondary level should be determined by whether the teacher is certified in the core content area.

Cooperative Education Work Hours • Hours must be earned after completion of all components of the AOD curriculum. AOD students can earn hours during the summer after their exiting year to complete the minimum 270-hours requirement • A minimum of 135 of the 270 required hours must have been completed during the regular instructional year. • Must have personnel to supervise student
Career Technical/Special Education Roles and Responsibilities For AOD • CareerTech • Participate in IEP Planning • Develop CTIP • Provide information for appropriate CT courses • Co-op coordinator will develop paid employment sites • Teach Coordinated studies/Seminar • Grade student in • Co-op • Special Ed. • Invite CT Teachers to IEP • Develop IEP • Coordinate Training • Document Training • Offer and provide support for the student and the career/technical education teacher. • Address the student’s attendance and behavior to ensure readiness for cooperative education. • Participate in CTIP Development • Job Coach • Train student at paid employment site developed by Co-op Coordinator • Develop community-based work sites for students pursuing a certificate • Train students pursuing a certificate at community –based work sites
Transition Services 651610 Transition Services This code applies to special education teachers teaching school-to-work transition skills and/or school/community-based instruction. These teachers do not have to meet the highly qualified teacher status
