Safety Planning • A safety plan details how and what a woman can do to better protect herself. • Safety plans are offered to try to help a woman plan how to be safer in an unsafe situtation • In the HIV world this is harm reduction
Sexual Safety Planning • Sexual safety planning for women in violent relationships may be detailed or may not • Her plan for safety may only consist of getting tested • Or it may be more detailed, this presents a barrier
Sexual Safety Planning • Institutional changes-important as not dependent on a person • Included in 40 hour training on DV • Inclusion in community outreach program • Inclusion in curriculum for counseling DV survivors • CTR sites adopted DV screening
