  4. PLATYHELMINTHS- FLAT WORMS. • Trematodes. • Cestodes.

  5. FLUKES. • Clonorchis sinensis( Asian liver fluke ). • Paragonimus westermani (Lung fluke ).

  6. CESTODES- TAPEWORMS. • Taenia saginata (Beef tapeworm). • Taenia solium (Pork tapeworm). • Echinococcus granulosus (Dog tapeworm).

  7. NEMATODES- ROUNDWORMS. • Enterobius vermicularis - pinworm. • Ascaris lumbricoides. • Necator americanus- hookworm. • Trichinella spiralis.

  8. ENTEROBIUS VERMICULARIS. • Adult pinworms found in the L.I. • Eggs deposited on the perianal skin. • Diagnosis- sticky tape.

  9. ASCARIS LUMBRICOIDES. • Dioecious: Sexual dimorphism. • Eggs can survive soil for long periods. • Diagnosis- fecal smear.

  10. NECATOR AMERICANUS. • Live in S.I. of man. • Eggs excreted in feces. • Larvae hatches and enters its host by penetration. • Diagnosis- fecal smear.

  11. TRHINELLA SPIRALIS. • Acquired by eating undercooked/raw pork. • Trichinosis. • Larvae freed from cyst in human digestive tract.
