  7. ACGME Resident Survey The data from the survey are intended as a diagnostic tool to focus the Site Visitor’s questions during the on-site visit. The site visitor will probe and clarify any areas of concern and pay particular attention to the duty hour items and to items with a substantial number of non-compliant responses. If the site visitor’s interview with the residents shows that past problem areas suggested in the survey data have been corrected, he will document this in his report to the RRC. The site visitor will also indicate in the report any survey questions or phrases that were misunderstood by the residents/fellows.
  8. The fellows’ interview with the Site Visitor As you are a small program, Dr Kraybill will want to meet with all of you in a group interview ( not a randomly selected representative from each PGY level)
  9. What happens during the fellows’ interview? The resident/fellow interview is an important component of the site visit and generally opens with a brief overview of the accreditation process and the purpose of the site visit. Residents/Fellows may be asked what instructions were provided about the resident interview. The residents/fellows are informed that if an adverse action results the site visit report may be shared with the program.
  10. What happens during the fellows’ interview? Then the site visitor asks questions based on the information in the program’s Program Information Form (PIF) and concludes with questions about the program's strengths and weaknesses. For the site visit report, answers have to reach consensus level to be reported, or are reported as “a single resident stated” or “the first-year residents as a group indicated.” Individual residents are not identified in the report.
