  1. Our glorification is the ultimate end of the redemptive work of God through Christ. • “For it was fitting for Him… in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” (Heb. 2:10) • “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory” (1 Cor. 2:7) • “if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” (Rom. 8:17) Heaven: Our Relation To God

  2. It is for glorification that we eagerly wait and endure the trials of our faith. • “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ… you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” (1 Pet. 1:6-7, 8-9) Heaven: Our Relation To God

  3. It is for glorification that we eagerly wait and endure the trials of our faith. • “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” (Rom. 8:18-19) Heaven: Our Relation To God

  4. What Will Be Our Relationship To God In Heaven? Heaven: Our Relation To God

  5. We will be together with Christ. • This should be our present longing and desire (Php. 1:23; 2 Cor. 5:8; CF. Job 19:26-27). • In glory, this will be a reality (John 14:1-4; 1 Thess. 4:16-17; 2 Thess. 2:1; Rev. 3:21). Heaven: Our Relation To God

  6. We will see Christ in all His glory and be amazed. • Some received glimpses into His glorified state (Mt. 17:2). • In Heaven, we will see Christ in all of His glory and be amazed (Matt. 25:31; 1 John 3:2; 2 Thess. 1:10). Heaven: Our Relation To God

  7. We will share a very intimate relationship with Christ and God the Father. • God's eternal plan in Christ was toward a family relationship with His creation (John 1:12; 1 John 3:1; Rom. 8:14-17; 2 Cor. 6:18; Gal. 4:5-6). • In Heaven, we will experience the reality of this intimate relationship (Rev. 7:13-17; 21:3-4, 7). Heaven: Our Relation To God

  8. We will worship and serve God throughout eternity. • We were created to worship and serve God and this is His desire (Isaiah 43:21; 1 Pet. 2:9; John 4:23; Eph. 1:5-6). • The Bible pictures heaven as a place of constant worship and service (Rev. 4; 5:11-14; 7:9-17; 11:15-16; 15:3-4; 19:3-4; Rev. 22:1-5). Heaven: Our Relation To God

  9. Our understanding of Heaven and our relationship to God there is limited to what God has revealed. • However, we can know certain things based upon His revelation. • In heaven, we will be together with Christ. • We will see Christ in all His glory and be amazed. • We will share a very close, intimate relationship with Christ and God the Father. • We will worship and serve God throughout eternity. • Why not prepare to enjoy the eternal blessings of God today? • Believe (John 8:24), repent (Luke 13:3), confess (Rom. 10:9), be baptized (Acts 2:38, Mk. 16:16), and serve God faithfully now (Rev. 2:10) so you can enjoy serving Him in heaven.
