The Amal Network comprises101 educational institutions covering a rangeofeducational and training areas: • 56 high schools • 16 junior high schools • 15 colleges for Technicians and Practical Engineers • 14 adult training centers
Division of High Schools: • 34 high schools under the supervision of the Ministry of Education • 22 high schools under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Employment
Enrollment and Staff: The number of students and teachers in the Amal network is approximately: Students – 30,000 Teachers and administrative personnel – more than 3,000 staff

Star- Styles of Tolerance, Awareness, and • Respect Major Objectives • Enhancing recognition of others • Developing willingness to contribute to a democratic society which values human rights • Studying and understanding the meaning of living together • Communicating in spoken and written English with multilingual / multicultural students • Enhancing students' self confidence • Promoting peace education in the following schools:
Activities 1. Face to face facilitated meetings conducted in English 2. Internet site for STAR 3. Producing a joint newsletter 4. Reading articles or poems written by Jewish or Arab students 5. Reading a common, relevant literary work (The Enemy, by Pearl Buck) 6. An ongoing dialogue between teachers and students from both schools.

Looking to the Future • Expanding the program to include 4 schools • Adding activities on the STAR Internet site • Enriching the literature program students deal with • Giving workshops to teachers in other schools
