  4. การเปลี่ยนประโยคคำสั่งตรง(direct command) ให้เป็นประโยค indirect command ทำได้ โดยวิธีต่อไปนี้ 1. ต้องเลือกใช้กริยานำ ให้เหมาะสมกับความในประโยคในคำสั่งนั้น 2. ต้องระบุผู้ถูกสั่ง 3. สั่งให้ทำอะไร ต้องเติม to หน้ากริยา back next

  5. เปลี่ยน said (to) เป็นกริยานำ (introducing verb)เหล่านี้ commanded เมื่อเป็นคำสั่งเฉียบขาด orderedเมื่อเป็นค่อนข้างเฉียบขาด toldedเมื่อเป็นคำสั่งธรรมดา back next

  6. Ex.    Direct : A teacher said to me , "Open the door." Indirect : A teacher told me to open the door. Direct : The officer said to the soldier," March better !” Indirect :The officer commanded the soldier to march better. Direct : He said to his servants,“Go away!” Indirect : He ordered his servants to go away. back next

  7. Direct : He said to me, “Run quickly !”. Indirect: He told (asked, ordered, requested) me to run quickly. Direct : He said to his friend, “Work steadily.”. Indirect: He advised his friend to work steadily back next

  8. Negative command ถ้าคำสั่งมี Don’t นำหน้า แสดงว่าเป็นคำสั่งห้าม เมื่อจะทำเป็น indirect ให้ใช้ not to ตามหลังกริยานำ Ex. Direct : Father said to me ," Don't make a loud noise." Indirect : Father told me not to make a loud noise. Direct : Don’t shut the door. Indirect : He asked me (him, her, etc.) not to shut the door. back menu

  11. วิธีเปลี่ยนจาก direct เป็น Indirect 1. เปลี่ยน say หรือ said เป็นกริยาที่มีความหมายในทางอ้อนวอนหรือขอร้อง เช่น beg, request, entreat asked เมื่อเป็นคำขอร้อง (ประโยคเดิมมี please) begged,entreat เมื่อเป็นคำขอร้องวิงวอน request เมื่อเป็นคำขอที่ต้องการให้ทำ back next

  12. Ex. Direct :She said, “Please help me.” Indirect : She begged me to help her. Direct :She said to her husband, “Please don`t hurt me.” Indirect : She entreated her husband not to hurt her. Direct :She said, “Use your influence to help me, please.” Indirect : She requested me to use influence to help her. back menu

  14. ประโยคอุทาน (exclamatory sentence) เป็นประโยคที่กล่าวออกมาด้วยการแสดงอารมณ์ เช่น อุทานออกมาด้วยความดีใจ เสียใจ ตื่นเต้น ตกใจ ขอร้องให้พระเจ้าช่วย เป็นต้น back next

  15. การเปลี่ยนประโยคเช่นนี้มีหลักคือการเปลี่ยนประโยคเช่นนี้มีหลักคือ ใช้กิริยานำให้มีความหมายตรงกับประโยคอุทานนั้น โดยตัดคำอุทานทิ้งไป Direct : He said, “Hurrah ! My friend has come.” ไชโย! เพื่อนเรามาแล้ว Indirect : He exclaimed with delight that his friend had come. เขาอุทานออกมาด้วยความดีใจว่า เพื่อนของเขามาแล้ว back next

  16. จะเห็นว่าเราเปลี่ยน said, “Hurrah ! …” เป็น exclaimed with delight ถ้าจะถามว่า exclaimed with delight นี้ เอามาจากไหน ตอบได้ว่าคิดขึ้นเอง แต่ต้องคิดให้ตรงกับคำอุทานว่า Hurrah ! ซึ่งเป็นคำอุทานแสดงความยินดี เราจึงใช้ exclaimed with delight ซึ่งแปลว่าอุทานออกมาด้วยความดีใจ back next

  17. การหากิริยานำ (introducing verb) มาใช้สำหรับประโยคอุทานนี้ค่อนข้างจะยุ่งยาก จึงขอแสดงไว้ให้ดูเป็นตัวอย่างดังต่อไปนี้ Exclaimed with delight อุทานด้วยความดีใจ Exclaimed with sorrow อุทานด้วยความเศร้า Exclaimed with sadness อุทานด้วยความเสียใจ back next
