No Pain, No Gain Chasten: to correct by punishment or suffering; to cause to be more humble or restrained Job 5:17: Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. (NKJV) Hebrews 12:6: For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” (NKJV)

  5. And the Story Continues Isaiah 11:1: A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. Revelation 1:6: and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Revelation 5:10: And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” In Hebrew, the “Branch” is netser – this is the word from which we get “Nazarene”

Isaiah 11:2: The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— • 1 Corinthians 1:30: It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Philippians 1:9-10: And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

Isaiah 11:2: The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— • Philippians 3:10: that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 2 Corinthians 4:6: For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 11:2: The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— • John 3:34: For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. Matthew 28:18-20: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

  10. Purpose of the Kingdom Isaiah 11:3-5: and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

  11. Bad Time to Own a Zoo Isaiah 11:6-8: The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.

  12. Isaiah 11:10: In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious. Exodus 17:15: Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner. Isaiah 11:11: In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.

  13. Isaiah 11:13-14: Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim. They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west; together they will plunder the people to the east. They will subdue Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be subject to them. Isaiah 11:15: The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals.

  14. Isaiah 11:16: There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from Egypt. Matthew 3:3: This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’” Isaiah 12:1: In that day you will say: “I will praise you, Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me.

  15. Isaiah 12:2: Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. Isaiah 12:3: With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Psalm 30:5: For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

The Seed Genesis 3:15: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” (NKJV) Genesis 22:18: In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” (NKJV) Luke 8:11: Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. (NKJV) Galatians 3:16: Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. (NKJV)

  18. The Root Isaiah 11:10: “And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,
Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious.” (NKJV) Isaiah 53:2: For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. (NKJV) Revelation 22:16: “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” (NKJV)

  19. The Rod/Stem Isaiah 11:1: There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. (NKJV) The Vine Jeremiah 2:21: Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a seed of highest quality. How then have you turned before Me into the degenerate plant of an alien vine? (NKJV) John 15:1: I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

  20. The Branch Zechariah 3:8: ‘Hear, O Joshua, the high priest, You and your companions who sit before you, For they are a wondrous sign;
For behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the BRANCH. (NKJV) Jeremiah 23:5: “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. (NKJV) Isaiah 4:2: In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious; And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing For those of Israel who have escaped. (NKJV)

  21. The Branch Genesis 1:11: Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself The Vine The Rod/Stem The Root The Seed

  22. John 12:24: Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. (NKJV)

  23. John 5:21: For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. (NKJV) John 3:5-6: Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (NKJV) John 6:63: It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (NKJV)
