Arrival and Departure Arrival Procedures Mary Fisher Lawn 8:50am Take Attendance and Collect Lunches. Attendance should be taken in duplicate. One sheet will remain with you and the second will be collected and redistributed on a daily basis to be filed in the office. NO CHILD SHOULD BE SENT ANYWHERE WITHOUT THE APPROPRIATE SUPERVISION. Morning Announcements will begin promptly at 9:30am. Departure Procedures 3:00pm Mary Fisher Lawn. Take Attendance and distribute popsicles. MAKE SURE ALL CAMPERS USE THE RESTROOM PRIOR TO ENTERING THE FIELD. 3:15pm Bus Riders will be dismissed RemainingCounselor on Mary Fisher Lawn Please make sure the campus is clear of any Trash or forgotten camper items when you make these transitions. All Counselors will be dismissed at 3:40pm.

FIRST AID & HEALTH HISTORY • All non-life threatening emergencies must be reported to the First Aid Station. • All campers with allergies or asthma should have a emergency action plan on file with the Counselor and First Aid Station. • Familiar with any signs and symptoms of any life threatening health issues. • Educate yourself on the use of Epi-Pens or Inhalers. • Keep Health History forms with you at all times. • Provide documentation of any First Aid or CPR Certifications.
Emergency Action Plan EXAMPLE EMERGENCY PLAN Emergency Plan for Spongebob Group In case of an emergency, please do the following: Teacher will assess the situation and make the call if EMC should be notified. At that point if he/she is CPR or First Aid Certified they will begin care in whatever fashion the emergency calls for. Any other individual who has up-to-date certification may assist in providing in emergency care. If there is no other person qualified a Co-Teacher or Cit will act as a runner for materials requested by Teacher Administering care and (anyone certified) will offer hands on assistance. Co-Teacher will call 911 if necessary. Explain to the Emergency workers that you are in need of medical assistance at Towson University. Ask them to please meet you at (your location) and you will escort them to the person who needs treatment. Give all pertinent information needed to the EMT. • Name, address of the Towson University, and number where you can be reached • Number of victims, give the condition (unconscious, neck injury, etc) • Tell them that first aid that has already been administered • Please answer any and all questions they ask, if you do not know the answer ask!!! (CIT/Lead Camper)- will direct everyone who is not involved in the injury to move as a group to a safe distance away from the injured and will wait for further instructions from a Teacher or Camp Staff. Co-Teacher- will act as our main source of information and will report with an update status on EMC. The runner will update Co-Teacher on care provided until EMC arrives. Those individuals giving Teacher assistance will stay with the victim until help can arrive. After the emergency has been removed from Towson University we will do the following: • A staff member will accompany the injured. (Camp Director or Assistant) • Make office aware if there is anything left of the premises (blood or any other bodily fluids) • Camp Director should call injured emergency contact with hospital information on hand. • Make all administrators aware of the situation. • Make sure ALL the appropriate paperwork is completed!!!
Emergency Procedures Please remember in any emergency situation to stay calm And execute the plans to the best of your ability. You are responsible for the camper’s safety during Natural disasters, severe weather, and all other times of crisis. Inclement Weather: If you are participating in an outdoor activity and you are suddenly caught in a lighting and/or thunder storm, go directly to the closest building on campus. Notify our office of your location and we will direct you on how to proceed. In the event of a Tornado move students quickly into interior rooms or hallways on the lowest floor of the nearest building and wait to for further instruction. Fire and/or Fire Alarm: When the fire alarm has been activated you are to treat the situation as if there is an actual fire. Never assume that the situation is non-threatening until instructed by the Camp Director. Be aware of all exits in each building you occupy. Accident or Injury: In any case of a severe injury if you are certified to administer First Aid please do so without hesitation. If there is no one present please have one counselor stay with the injured person while emergency assistance is being summoned. Notify the office immediately of the situation. Emergency Contact with the Public Injury: In the case of an injured camper or staff member the Camp Director will notify their emergency contact with pertinent information regarding the situation. Inclement Weather: In the case of life threatening weather the Camp Director will immediately put a voice recording on the Home Camp Office Line (410-686-4920) indicating to the public the status of the camp’s emergency plan. This will include instructions on whether or not campers can be safely picked up or if we will use our bus system to distribute campers home. This will include instructions on whether or not campers can be safely picked up or if we will use our bus system to distribute campers home. *In the case that we need to have immediate contact with the parents or guardians of our campers we will have one Teacher from each group make phone calls to emergency contacts informing them of the emergency status of the camp whether or not campers can be safely picked up or if we will use our bus system to distribute campers home. They will also be instructed to call the HOME CAMP LINE (410-686-4920) for further information regarding the situation.
Discipline Who is responsible for disciplining campers? At all times, you are responsible for the camper’s actions both positive and negative. Compliment each camper’s work and act as a role model. Please be CONSISTANT with the rules you have set for your group and never embarrass the child when dealing with discipline. Phone Call Home- Please notify the office before doing so and this call must be documented in the office at the time of the call. If you are unable to correct negative behavior (after a phone call has been made to the parent or guardian) please refer your camper immediately to the Camp office and we will proceed with further action.
Risk Management Each counselor should make his group aware that the camp is located on a public property and therefore, the importance of each camper to follow basic common sense rules (stay together, report immediately back to a counselor after leaving the group for an excused time period, use of public bathrooms). For your safety: Never be ALONE with a Camper in the RESTROOM. Never provide FIRST AID without proper Certification. *Please provide a copy of your UP-TO DATE Certifications (CPR/FIRST AID) to be left in the camp office. Report any suspicious behavior or individuals who are not associated with the camp. Report any possible abuse information to the Director immediately.
