Key Concepts You Will Learn Today • One way to gather data is through observations. Accurate and complete observations are important for making conclusions about the natural world. • Many of the materials used by people occur naturally on earth and are known as natural resources.
Key Vocabulary • Natural resource – a naturally occurring substance on Earth that is useful. • Renewable resource – a resource that is able to be replenished by natural processes. Examples: water, plants, animals. Examples? • Non-renewable resource – a resource that cannot be replenished by natural processes. Example: fossil fuels. Examples?
