Beauty Stylist: • Where? The Northwest. • Experience? 5 years of experience required. • Job description? Help customers find beauty products suited to fit their needs. • Market level? Tertiary portion of the fashion industry. • Education? Must be educated in cosmetic business and products.
DESIGN ASSISTANT • Where?Philadelphia, PA • Experience? 1-2 Years working in the design industry. • Job Description? Work closely with the Designer and Buyers to develop a cohesive product assortment that both fulfill business needs, as well as pushing the envelope with new product development. • Market Level? Summary: • Overall it seems that textile careers are most commonly needed at the current time. Careers in footwear and home fashion also have a lot of openings. The most shocking to me though, was that I found absolutely no jobs in the retail and apparel industry. There are a plentiful amount of fashion careers in the NY metro area, while there are few on an international level.
