  2. Alitalia -the History • The Alitalia Group employs 19.600 persons, including 12.700 as ground personnel and 6.900 as flight staff. • Alitalia has inaugurated a program for employee participation in company management through the distribution of 20% of company share stock to its own staff.

  3. Alitalia - the Fleet • The Alitalia fleet is one of the youngest in Europe, with an average age of just over eight years. • The fleet is composed of 160 aircraft: • 10 B747-200 • 8 MD11 • 12 B767-300ER • 22 A321 and 4 A320 (the first delivered out of 19 ordered) • 94 MD80 • 6 ATR-42 and 4 ATR-72

Alitalia - the Destinations • Alitalia now links 66 countries in the world, carrying 25 million passengers and 265 thousand tons of freight a year. • Alitalia links: • 49 airports of Europe • 14 airports of America • 11 airports of Africa • 17 airports of Far and Middle East • 1 airport of Australia

Alitalia - the Group • Alitalia group now enjoys annual revenues of 8.000 billion lire. • The Alitalia group includes twelve other companies: • Alitalia Team, Alitalia Express, Eurofly, Sisam, Atitech, Italiatour, Sigma, Sigma Travel System, Alitalia Airport Service, Aviofin, Alinsurance, Racom Teledata.

  6. Alitalia - the Operations Projects • 01/10/1999: the building of the new Operation Control Center (first phase). • 01/04/2000: ALITALIA TEAM takes over responsibility for scheduled flight operations for the whole Alitalia Group. Alitalia Team acts as Internal Capacity Provider. The new OCC has been set up within the Alitalia Team structure.

  7. Alitalia - the Operations Projects • 01/06/2000: the start of the organizing phase for the new OCC (second phase). • 01/06/2000: the start of service of Alitalia Airport

  8. Alitalia - the Operations IT projects • In the OCC Operations area: • improve the level of internal IT customer service for the new Operation Control Center • complete theimplementation of the System for the Operative Crew Roster Management • In the Airport area: • integration of IT system for manage the ground and ramp staff of new company
