Medicine • Willow tree • aspirin Made from the bark • coca Plant • Used as a local anesthetic • Quinine tree • Used to treat malaria • THERE ARE MANY MORE!!!
clothing • Cotton • Used to make most of our clothing • Flax plant • Used to make linen • Tannin • Chemical from trees in order to treat leather
fuels • coal • oil • Natural gas • ALL from stored photosynthetic energy!!! • Developing countries use wood and other plants.

Two types of vascular plants • Angiosperms • known as Flowering plants • Produce seeds with a protective fruit • Ex. Apple tree • Gymnosperms • Produce seeds not enclosed by fruits • Ex. Pine tree
Non-vascular plants • Do not Have vascular tissue or true roots, stems, and leaves • Example: mosses
