P4 Choose 5 – research how can these factors impact on your diet and health? • religion/culture • social class • personal preferences • peer pressure • the media • position in the family • geographic location • availability of food • financial resources. Design a information leaflet Remember this is for the canteen workers and must show at least 5 factors that can influence your diet And thus your health eg poor people (lower class) may not be able to access or purchase lots of fruit and vegetables and or protein due to financial constraints thus may not be able to follow a good balanced diet. (class factor/ income/ wealth) Think about the impact of the media/ culture on some peoples perceptions of health eating? Task 2 & 3 (P2, P3, M2) • Research five factors that influence the diet of individuals and present this to the class (P2). • This should: religion/culture, social class, personal preferences, peer pressure, the media, position in the family, geographic location, availability of food and financial resources. Last task – Have you completed it? • In a small group discuss which medical conditions can be related to unbalanced diets. Make own notes during the discussion and then make a list of these medical conditions (P3) • Choose two of the conditions and research how unbalanced diets can contribute to the development of them. • Using your research produce a leaflet for the canteen workers and learners on the dietary aspects of these medical conditions.
