Overview • Remit - to educate people to judge the Rottweiler • In order to achieve the desired goal of distance education of a large unknown audience across the US, it is necessary to have a program and tools available publicly. Today's world = Internet
GOAL - To create, accumulate, and share the tools necessary for the education of: JUDGES, MENTORS AND PRESENTERS
Long-term goal • Education: • Education for Mentors and Presenters as well as Judges • Recruitment of additional regional educators • Networking with the JE groups nationwide to provide Mentors and Seminars • Written program tools to assure Mentors represent the ARC in knowledge (conformation and standard) and decorum.
Website and program development • Website to include: • seminars listing • mentors list • Judges Handbook • Illustrated Standard • Articles about conformation • Guidelines and application forms • Tools for presentations and seminars for download when needed • Links to the AKC Judges Education Website for forms and rules • Links to Judges Education Groups

Educate ourselves • Handout and what it says to you as a Mentor • Learning how to train people using only the positive aspects of our dogs • Ringside observation comments • Answering questions by quoting the Standard – you will never get in trouble • Lower jaw question and how it relates to upper lip as well • Illustrated Standard review • Review of materials included in the JE Packet • Review of mentor and presenter process and rules and AKC rules
Education • Open and frank round table discussions at the national or any show (following judging) regarding: • Interpretation of the Standard • Terminology and what it actually says • Styles and how they effect changes to the Standard – teach the Standard • From the judges point of view that is what they must be able to identify in the ring under the oversight of the AKC Reps. • Teaching the Standard and not the styles • Learning what the Standard truly calls for • Measurements • Angles • Relationships and what they look like • Tricks of IS overlay, measuring pictures with transparencies, Lines to dots, measure and calculate
Where are we now • We have • a group • some procedural documents and articles • presentation materials available for Presenters • We have a website • Tools, information for judges and us

Recommendation • Go and distribute this message. • Know that we are building something for today and tomorrow where information is not lost. The future will build on what we start today. Be a part of it! • Our breed will benefit • Information is available to everyone, we aren’t just training the judges, we are training anyone who wants to learn. • Go enjoy the show and Good Luck to you all.
