Undergraduate Nursing Program • Four year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree • Accredited by CCNE & NLNAC • 66 students admitted each fall Clements Recreation Center
Nursing Admission • A select group of high school students are GUARANTEED admission into the Nursing Program: • High School GPA of 3.5 or higher • ACT composite score of 24 or higher
Freshman Year • Students complete one year of pre-nursing & then submit application to Nursing courses • English, Chemistry, Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology at a “C” level or above required • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4 point scale) required • Non-Guaranteed: compete for remaining spaces in class Microbiology
BSN Highlights • Lectures in large group; on-campus skill laboratories & off-campus clinical experiences in groups of 6-10 • Nursing clinical placements begin sophomore year & continue until graduation • Diverse clinical sites throughout Central Ohio • Summers off !!

High School: Who? • Mathematics: Must have sound Algebra skills for placement testing • Strong scientific base: Not just “helping people” any more! • General & Bio-Organic Chemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology in curriculum • Reading & Writing: Liberal Arts campus
Note on Test-Taking • Test-taking: Must be able to test well on multiple choice exams • Difficulty with ACT/SAT standardized exams indicates weakness in this area • Nursing tests are in this format to prepare for Nursing Board Exam • Identify students with a “gap” between GPA & test scores – need to repair this prior to entering a nursing progam!
