HISTORY 1930s City ParkCommunity Center - Set Afire by a Sailor After a USO Dance. 1949 City Hired a Consultant to Do a Study on Community Center 1972 Stanford Research Team Hired to Do a Community Center Study 1976 City Purchases Old Senior High and Jr. High Buildings 1985 Mayor’s Advisory Board Recommends $3.2 Million dollar Bond Levy 1989 Mayors’ Community Center Committee Formed to Review Community Center and City Hall Expansion (Study by Architects West). 1992 Kootenai County YMCA Works on Community Center 1994 All American Committee Formed to Address Community Center 1997 Mayor’s Ad Hoc Committee Addressed Issue of Community Center 1997 Bond Levy for $6.3 Million Dollar Facility 1998 Chamber of Commerce/Athletic Clubs Committee Formed to Address Community Center Issues. 2005 Kroc Center Committee Formed. 2006 City Awarded Kroc Center
