What was life like in Medieval Beverley? By Max Wilson
Introduction: Beverley in the Medieval times was very different to how it is today. The church was a very important building. This was where people worshipped God, paid their taxes and talked to the Vicars for ideas and advice. The Beverley minster was not only the church it was also like a community centre/town hall. People’s life revolved around God and the church. Children didn't all go to school. Some went to private schools however not all of the parents could afford for their children go into school. Other children were educated by the church at schools like Beverley Grammar school. Some of the less fortunate children ended up having to get a job or apprenticeshipto help get money in for their family.
