  2. Location of Chloroplast • Found only in cells where photosynthesis takes place, e.g. leaf cells in plants.

  3. Importance of Chloroplast • Site of photosynthesis. • Produces organic compounds, i.e. carbon compounds. • Organic compounds has chemical energy in bonds from solar energy.

  4. Structure of Chloroplast • Double membraneorganelle • Outer membrane smooth • Inner membraneforms stacks of connected sacs called thylakoids. • Thylakoid stack is called the granun (grana-plural) • Gel-like material around grana called stroma
