Electronic Classroom Support • Maintenance Schedule • Rooms inventoried every 6 weeks • Thorough servicing of all equipment 3 times/year • Approximately 30 - 40 lamps replaced each year • Loss of equipment has decreased with improved security measures
Began the transition to Desire2Learn last spring by offering training sessions for faculty In Summer 2004 the first SCSU courses in D2L were offered The transition to D2L was completed for the start of Fall 2004 Usage is up over WebCT, and is expected to continue to grow
SCSU is the lead institution for the state on the project • Began work on “Minnesota Reflections,” MDL’s signature project • Hired a project director who is working out of the Minnesota Historical Society

Student Training • Every semester 10 – 12 MiniTab workshops for up to 30 students in each session • Several general workshops offered for students on a variety of topics

College Support Technicians • Have at least one college technician in every college • Regular meetings of all campus technicians • Listserv for campus technicians • Discussion of common problems, sharing of knowledge, etc.
Training/Workshops • Wide range of workshops offered • CIS: 9 different software products, 46 different topic areas, focused primarily on Microsoft products • IMS: 15 different software products, 58 different topic areas, much related to WebCT/Desire2Learn • Efforts to standardize and cross train to provide improved support
Technology Instruction • 176 training sessions on 56 topic areas, with 767 faculty and staff attending • 44 technology instruction sessions for SCSU courses serving 2,872 students
Software Licensing Agreements • Campus Microsoft Agreement • Publisher added • Norton Antivirus agreement • Now includes home use • Through MnSCU: • Adobe • Macromedia • ESRI Geographical Information Systems • Keyserver licensing • Expanded to discipline related labs • Added use for certain applications for faculty/staff
Security • Virus protection • 46 different attachment types blocked • More than 68,000 different viruses/variants are filtered, with 30 new ones added each week, on average • No major outbreaks • Amount of Spam continues to increase • Percent of Inbound E-mail identified as Spam has ranged from 42% – 87%, with an average of 66% • False positive rate of .00117%

Network Uptime • Uptime increased from 99.18% in FY03 to 99.80% in FY04 • Down an average of 1.5 hours per month total, of which two-thirds (12 of 18 hours) was for scheduled maintenance • Very minimal downtime due to security, virus, or denial of service
Wireless Network Access Funded primarily by student technology fees Coverage of 75% of campus Number of registered users up from 85 in FY03 to 552 in FY04 Remainder of campus to be completed during FY05

Americans with Disabilities Act • Four open computer labs with wheelchair accessible furniture • Four Miller Center workstations with assistive enhancements • Large resolution display • EasyBall & Trackballs • Reader software for web pages, print material, electronic documents • Web site changes continue to move SCSU toward full ADA compliance
Web Services Approximately 80% of sites have migrated to the new server environment Content management software is now used by 40 departments to make updates to their site Web Council continues to review suggestions and address policy issues
