  3. Our Achievements and Successes • Applications to study at the University of Bedfordshire have more than doubled in the last three years (UCAS). Now there are almost five applications for every place available • Our staff have received a number of National Teaching Fellowship Awards for outstanding contributions to teaching and learning • Our Graduate Teacher Programme was rated ‘outstanding’ in our 2010 Ofsted report • Bedford campus selected as official training site for 2012 Olympics • Bedford campus chosen as only one of three universities to host first BBC Radio 4 tour starring Robert Webb, amongst others • First university in the UK to partner Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust • We received the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2011 University of Bedfordshire

Employment Focused • Excellent graduate employment rates, with 90% either in work and/or further study (Latest Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education report) • Employment driven courses, many of which are accredited by professional bodies such as: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) • General Social Care Council (GSCC) • Award-winning Careers and Employment Service • Links with some 4,000 organisations including BBC, TUI and Channel 4 University of Bedfordshire

Graduate Successes • Anika Leslie-Walker – Football Development Officer for the Bedfordshire Football Association, Sports Studies graduate, 2007 • Matthew Smith – PE Teacher at Orton Longueville School in Peterborough, PGCE Secondary Physical Education graduate, 2008 • Abigail Boafo-Addai – Marketing and Publicity Officer for Hackney Council, BA (Hons) Business Studies graduate, 2003 • Ann Knight – Social Worker for Bedford County Council, BSc (Hons) Social Work graduate, 2005 University of Bedfordshire

  6. £180m Investment in Facilities • New £6m Bedford Campus Centre • £20m en-suite accommodation • £8m PE and Sport Science Centre, which will be used to support 2012 Olympic athletes University of Bedfordshire
