Getting to Know Mimecast In this presentation we plan to take you through the basic first steps to better understanding how to use your Mimecast personal portal.
Mimecast Personal Portal • Mimecast Personal Portal is a webmail portal that allows you to search your personal Archive, manage your Permit/Block lists, and continue to send and receive email in the event of a mail server outage, or for situations when you are unable to access your email.
Mimecast Personal Portal • To the right you will see the login screen. • This is where you will type in your email address • Here is the link where you can access the personal portal below: • Mimecast Personal Portal
Mimecast Personal Portal • The next step is to type in your email password. • This will be the same as your Outlook password.
Mimecast Personal Portal • Once logged in to the portal you will be able to see some of the mail that has been captured by Mimecast. • Our next slide is a video that will take us through the overview of what the personal portal is used for. • The video is just an overview so if you want to learn more just click on the link below: Mimecast Education
Mimecast Personal Portal • Many of us have had some of our messages not be delivered at all to our inbox and we have wondered where those messages went. • This next video goes over steps to manage the messages that are placed on hold within the Mimecast personal portal. • The video will discuss some steps you can take to release those videos being held from delivery.
Mimecast Personal Portal • You can permit specific senders who have previously been blocked from sending you messages. • This can also be managed within the personal portal and you can select specific email addresses to allow through to your inbox. • These steps will prevent those messages that were previously blocked to reach your inbox and we recommend you set this permission up for all third party companies you receive emails from. • This next video will discuss the “managed senders” in more detail.
Mimecast Personal Portal • The last video discussed what to do with those messages that have been held by senders you would like to have released to your inbox. • That video showed you how to manage their email addresses so you could receive their emails directly to your inbox. • You will also notice in your personal portal that there is a section for messages that are bounced or rejected. • The next video will go over how to manage these messages and make sure the messages no longer become placed in the aforementioned categories.
Mimecast Personal Portal • Before we finish the adventure into the world of Mimecast functionality, there’s a couple more functions to go over. • Next we will see a video that shows you how to adjust your settings within the personal portal. • This will be useful for automating a lot of the functionality that you just learned in the previous videos and to using Mimecast most effectively.
Mimecast Security for Email • This brings us to the conclusion of the videos that show us how to effectively use the Mimecast Personal Portal. • We hope that you have enjoyed the presentation and learned a great deal from the information provided. • Our last video just briefly goes over the security that Mimecast provides for us all and gives some explanation to why there needs to be a security feature attached to an organizations email system. • Thank you for taking out time to learn more about Mimecast.
