Problem • How to manufacture a microstrip patch antenna for wireless communication at 2.4 GHz ? • Whether the microstrip antenna can be used as client antenna in computer?
Feed Technique • The Coaxial feed or probe feed is a very common technique used for feeding Microstrip patch antennas Coaxial Feed
Method of Analysis Transmission Line Model
Antenna Design Design Specification • fo= 2.4 GHz • Єr = 1.03 • h = 12 mm • Feed Technique : Coaxial Feed • Method of Analysis : Transmission Line Model
By transmission line calculations, we get : • L = 46.2 mm • W = 64 mm • Lg= 118 mm • Wg = 134 mm
Conclusions • The signal strength (Gain) of microstrip patch antenna compared with omnidirectional antenna is 15 dB. • The radius of microstrip patch antenna is about ±200m • The Half Power Beamwidth of microstrip patch antenna is 40° • There is still back lobe in radiation pattern of microstrip antenna • Microstrip patch antenna can be used as client antenna in computer
