  1. SHREE Kali devi vidya mandir PROJECT REPORT ON Natural Resources SUBMITTED BY NITIN GARG

  2. NATURAL RESOURCES 1.AIR 2.WATER 3.SOIL 4.FOREST 5.FOSSIL FUELS

  3. 1.AIR The AIR blows naturally – it is not caused by human activity, and it cannot be used up. The power of the AIR drives sailboats. It has been used to power AIRmills that grind grain. AIRmills can also use the circular movement of the blades to turn a turbine. This is increasingly used as a means of generating electricity.

  4. THE BREATH OF LIFE : AIR Air :Air is a mixture of different gases. Atmosphere : The blanket of air which covers the earth . COMPOSITION OF GASES 1% NITROGEN : 78% 21% 78% OXYGEN : 21% CARBONDIOXIDE : 0.03% OTHER GASES : 0.97%

  5. ROLE OF ATMOSPHERE Atmosphere controls the temperature of planet. It generally makes the temperature constant. Different layers of atmosphere- 1.Troposphere-10-20km 2.Stratosphere-20-50km 3.Mesosphere-50-100km 4.Ionosphere-100-200km 5.Exosphere –200-50km

  6. 2.WATER Water- The most unusual natural compound found on earth and which fulfills almost various demands of different living things. About three fourth of the earth surface that is 75 are covered with water. Now day’s water is also being polluted by human beings.

  7. SOURCES OF WATER- 1.River. 2.Pond. 3.spring. 4.well 5.rainwases

  8. 3.SOIL Soil is the portion of the earth surface consisting of disintegrated rock and decaying organic material. It provides the support for many plants and animals

  9. HOW SOIL IS FORMED? Soil is formed from the rock by under going the following two process- 1.Weathering 2.Paedogenesis Over long periods of time, thousand and millions of year, the rock at or near the surface of the earth are broken down by various physical, chemical and some biological process. The end product of this Breaking down in the fine particle of soil Composition of soil- 1.Gravel. 2.Sand particle. 3.Clay particle.

  10. 4. FOREST A forest is any area with a lot of trees. There are forests all over the world. The type of forest varies depending on the location of the forest: for example, there are tropical rain forests, coniferous forests, and deciduous forests.

  11. 5.FOSSIL FUELS Fossil fuels take millions of years to form. They are the product of the fossilized remains of dead plants and animals that have been exposed to the heat and pressure deep within the earth’s crust. There are many types of fossil fuels, such as petroleum (gasoline), natural gas, and coal.

  12. Fossil Fuels Fossil fuels are arguably one of the most valuable natural resources in modern times. It is estimated that 86 percent of the world’s energy comes directly from burning fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are the source of energy for almost every machine, including the generators that produce electric energy.

  13. Fossil Fuels Because fossil fuels take so long to form, they are being consumed faster than they can be produced. Fossil fuels are a major contributor to air pollution because when they are burned they release many dangerous gases such as nitrogen dioxide, methane, and carbon dioxide.
